Today, I Take a Chance on Myself

So often we have the desire to create something or to make a change in our lives, but every time we are ready to take the first step, we freeze.

It’s not that we’re not strong enough or brave enough—although this is what we may tell ourselves—it’s that we find a million reasons to postpone shining the light on ourselves.

Sound familiar? Read on…

Many of us are eager and willing to support those we love in just about any radical change they have planned. Whether it’s changing the color of their hair or moving cross country.

But when it comes time to support ourselves, we shy away.

We come up with reasons: Maybe we’re not ready. Maybe we’re not good enough. Maybe we won’t succeed.

But we won’t succeed if we never take a chance on ourselves.

So decide today is your day. Close your eyes and repeat to yourself: “Today, I am ready to take a chance on myself.”

Whatever that chance is for you. A new job? A move? A shift in thinking? A new relationship? Maybe it’s time to create?

But how do you prepare to take a chance?

With trust.

This is where you need to begin to trust. Trust yourself. Trust that the Universe has you covered. Trust that you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

From that trust comes strength and conviction. From that trust comes the knowledge that you are good enough.

From that trust comes the ability to act.

Act on what you want. The change you crave. The desire churning in your belly.

So close your eyes once more and take a deep breath. Exhaling, tell yourself, “I am ready to take a chance on myself.”

Then ask: What is it that I really want?

What am I allowing to hold me back? What perceived obstacles are in my way?

Then decide to free yourself from whatever is holding you back. Simply choose to put it down, and tell yourself, “I am done with that.”

Trust that you are ready, and make today the day you take a chance on yourself.
